Help Make Parenting Become a National Priority

Parents, teachers, heads of corporations and even the President of the United States are being urged to make effective parenting a national priority by signing a petition affirming the importance of advocating, celebrating and promoting effective parenting and parenting education.

The parenting petition is part of The National Effective Parenting Initiative (NEPI) and can be found on the NEPI Web site, www.effectiveparentingusa.org. It is one of several things parents and others can do help reduce child abuse, drug use and school violence.

Kerby T. Alvy, Ph.D., founder and executive director of the Center for The Improvement of Child Caring in Studio City, Calif. came up with the idea for the initiative and petition.

According to Alvy, “The National Effective Parenting Initiative (NEPI) is about working toward the goal of every child in our country becoming effectively and humanely raised by parents who have received the best possible parenting education.”
